Video on Your Two Month Old Baby's Development
Your two month old baby gives you his first smile at this stage. The more you smile at him, he smiles back at you all the more. Smiling and imitating facial expressions are forms of communications for your two month old baby. Your baby cries for many reasons such as hunger, tiredness or boredom. Slowly he learns to communicate through babbling and cooing. He will learn to communicate by trying to imitate and interact to your voice. All these indicate great improvements in your two month old's social development. Your baby enjoys staring at almost anything including his hands. He cannot reach out for an object but holds on tight to an object that is given to him. His muscles are developing rapidly and the neck strength increases. If he appears comfortable in the standing position, help him practise standing. But very few babies at this stage can bear their own weight. Remember to vary your two month old's position to counteract the flat head problem. A good idea is to place the baby on her stomach when he is awake.
