Video on Your Five Month Old Baby's Development
Your five month old baby fusses less at this stage. She spends more time laughing and smiling. She reacts to your playful attention rather than mere imitation of your actions. Her unique personality begins to emerge and she uses many sounds like coos, squeals and babbles to get your attention. Slowly it becomes easy to understand your baby's language as she communicates with you. Music also changes her moods. She reaches out for objects and uses her hand like a rake to pick them up. She will often move objects from one hand to the other and finally put them in her mouth. Be careful about objects lying within her reach. Do not be surprised if you pulling her little toes towards her mouth. Her muscles strengthen from head to toe and she will mostly be able to bear some weight on her legs. She will be able to push up on her arms. Your baby may roll over from front to back and sit in the tripod position. She will reach out with both arms ready for you to lift her up.
