Video on Your Fifteen Month Old Toddler's Development
Your fifteen month old toddler is almost always energetic and always on the go. His communication improves greatly. Although you wont understand most of what he says, he will display a lot of useful jargon. He understands your facial expressions and imitates the tones in your voice. Slowly you will understand your toddler's language partly. At this age, your toddler should have started to recognise and name body parts. He can follow simple commands and answer simple questions. He will say at least three words other than "Ma-ma" and "Da-da". His motor skills continue to improve.He can self-feed, drink from a cup and build a tower of two or more cubes.He will also enjoy fitting shapes together, putting pieces of a puzzle together, and nest and stack toys. The fifteen month old toddler will combine objects to affect one another and explore each object individually. He may scribble on paper and use one object to reach out for another. All these indicate your toddler's problem solving skills and power of imagination. He will begin to climb, run and jump. Your fifteen month old toddler will mostly climb up the steps and may even come down again. If you are teaching him to climb down the stairs, teach him to do so backwards.
