My baby is six months old and I want to wean her from the pacifier. She is comfortable without it during the day. But at night, she becomes restless and cries a lot till I give her the pacifier to sleep. Have any of you faced the same problem with your baby. Please advise.

My son used his pacifier till he was about 9 months old. He was absolutely fine without it during the day. But, he wanted it at night when he went to sleep. If we did not give it to him, there will be a lot of crying and he would become cranky. We put him to sleep on our arms instead of patting him to sleep on the bed. We waited for about ten minutes before laying him in his crib. This process was repeated everyday for about a week. Gradually he learnt to fall asleep at night without a pacifier.
