Weaning from bottle
Hello everybody, I am having a tough time in weaning my one year old baby Rohit off the feeding bottle. He drinks his water and juices from a cup or sippy cup. But when it comes to milk, he refuses to drink it unless given in a feeding bottle. If I try to be firm on him, he starts crying and does not stop till I give up. Have any of you faced this problem with your little one? I am really worried, please help!
I had a similar problem with my little Anitha. I surfed the Internet and found that the best way was to “cheat your baby”. One day, I just threw the bottle into the dustbin in front of her. She seemed a bit confused but I told her that it was gone now and showed her the cup that had the same milk. I pretended to take a sip and enjoy the milk. She seemed interested and held her hand out for the cup. I repeated this for a few days and she gradually forgot the bottle. All the Best!
I told my little boy that he was a big boy now and should help others whenever he could. To give an example, I told him a story about a fairy giving a feeding bottle to a small boy because he did not have one and his elder brother a cup. Hope this trick helps.
