I am in my 20th week. Whn I went for my weekly checkup early this week, my gynecologist told me that I was anemic and asked me to take an additional 60 mg iron every day. I feel that it is a bit too much on the higher side and that I will end up having problems such as constipation. I am confused because I don't want to end up anemic and harm my baby either.

If you are anemic, then an addition of 60 mg iron per day is certainly not way too much. Remember you will lose blood during delivery. So, you will need to build up the reserves from now. Take Vitamin C along with your iron so that it absorbs better. Include a lot of fibre and water in your diet and you can win over constipation.
