My husband and I want to have a safe intercourse without my getting pregnant. We are planning for a baby only a few years later. He does not want to use condoms and I do not want pills. Is using an IUD a reliable option?

You can use an intrauterine device (IUD) or copper T as a contraceptive measure. This irritates the uterus lining called the endometrium and makes it impossible for the implantation of the fertilised ovum on to the uterus. This avoids chances of uterine pregnancy. However the chances of an ectopic or tubal pregnancy are increasingly high and in such cases you will be forced to terminate the pregnancy. :(
