When I am travelling, I prefer to use disposable diapers for my 1.5 years old baby as they are easier to manage. But, my mother in law keeps insisting that they will cause rashes and tells me to use only cloth ones. Is it true that disposable diapers cause rashes?

Rashes occur when your baby's bottoms are not clean and dry. Change his diapers as soon as they are soiled and wipe him clean and dry. You can consider putting a diaper ointment after you wipe him dry. Do not use a talcum powder as this may cause yeast infection. When you are at home and you are going to lay him on the bed, allow him to go without diapers for some time. Fresh air will help in healing rashes that have formed. You can lay him on a waterproof sheet to avoid soiling your bed.
