I was working till I gave birth to my baby. She is now nine months old and I would like to return to work? Can I leave my baby at such an early stage?

no, i wouldn't advise you that.. as per me, you should spend some more time with baby.. at least another three months.. till anyone else can totally take care of him. See, as you are a mother of a new born you should spend time with him it will help you and the baby both.

i returned to work when my baby was 10 months old. Just ensure that the day care you leave your baby at has enough child to caretaker ratio..ideally for such small kids a 1:2 ratio is ideal. Cleanliness and good hygiene also needs to be looked at.It is also good to enquire if apart from just care, does the dayacre also offer some fun activities as a schedle for the kids.just so that u are sure, just try leaving ur kid at the day care while u stay around away from his/her sight for sometime a week or so before u join work. It will take your child 10 - 15 days to adjust to the daycare, do be prepated for some hard tears due to separation anxiety from your child, but they will adjust and be just fine in a month's time. I have found leaving the child in a daycare beneficial, they tend to learn to socialise and also speak early.

I returned to work when my baby was a year old. My in-laws moved in with us and were quite supportive. They took care of the child very well. Consider various factors regarding who will take care of your baby in your absence. Plan for this in advance. You may also consider a Work from home option if it is money that is pressing you to be away from your baby.
