No oil massage for baby

My doctor has told me not to give my 7 month old baby a massage because it can cause harm if not done properly. But, I am afraid this will give her a dry skin. Please advise.

I think there is nothing wrong in giving her a massage so long as you do it gently using only baby oils. A firm massage can be hard on your baby's delicate skin.

I too did not give my baby an oil massage as per my doctor's advice. However, my baby is fine and has a normal skin. Also, I did not apply kajal on his eyes like for most children.

I cant figure out what doctors have against oil massage. Both my son's enjoyed it and I think have strong / leans structure because they got massage everyday for one full year (birth to age one)
