I had 3 IVF cycles on and when I finally became pregnant it was an ectopic pregnancy. :( I had a surgery to remove the tube followed by a D & C. Does anyone know how this happened? I have heard that ectopics are rare with IVF. The doctor told us that I still have chances of getting pregnant.
I had a similar experience. In my case, the embryos were too large and ruptured the tubes. So I had to go in for a surgery to remove the tube and stop the bleeding. However I did not have a D & C. I really don't know why they did one on you. Didn't your doctor give any explanation?
I found from the Net that it is because the fluid inside the catheter inside which the embryos are placed sometimes flows upwards and travels into your tube taking the enbryos along with it.
