Hi All! I have a problem which may sound silly. Brushing my toddler's teeth is a big ordeal every day. He just doesn't allow me to brush his teeth. As soon as I put the brush inside his mouth, he tries to bite the bristles and does not allow me to clean his teeth. Is there anything I can do for this?
change his toothpaste and tooth brush.. get a colorful and attractive toothbrush for him.. it might help you in getting him to brush his teeth and one more thing.. gently brush his teeth...
Try getting him some fruit flavoured toothpaste. I keep a mug of soapy water in front of Bina when I am ready to brush her teeth. I then allow her to play with the water on the condition that she keeps her mouth open. She is quite glad to do so. I use this as a chance to clean her teeth and move the tooth brush with the fruit flavoured toothpaste on her teeth during this time.
Try and be role model for your child. First , show him how you brush your teeth and then explain benefits of brushing teeth to your child..slowly when he will see you doing it he will also start brushing his teeth
