This is Punch's first word in Hindi..I wish it would have been Kya Hua..and also she would have first asked me..the lucky recipient of this question was her stuffed toy Doreman. Now she also says Ye Lo ( take this)

Yathaa Sthaanam.

Sanskrit for "in its own place". I love the word. It fits us gypsies perfectly. So much happened the past 4 weeks and I have duly forgotten what I wanted to write in the chaos of the past 2 days trying to settle into our routine. Its tough when the house is like an igloo and the daily chores beckon. I remember this one incident which happened in Madras and I ll leave you with that. So we were coming back form Mahabalipuram and Hd wanted to get a cup of coffee and we stopped at the Cafe Coffee Da

Random – The Move, The Wiggles & Phonics

-We are moving back to the US, after 4 years in Singapore. It feels like only yesterday that we sold off almost every single piece in our apartment in California. I had to sell my precious car -a VW Passat- for a total loss. I loved that car, it had purple lights . We had also sold other stuff like a beautiful trunk-style coffee table from Pier 1, my first black leather couch, hubby’s beloved grill, turkish carpet etc etc etc. It was then that I had decided, that if we were to move again

Absolutely Everybody....

The brat had his annual day yesterday. In keeping with a new trend set by the school since the previous year, the annual day concert is held in an open air ground which is practically next door from home, and given that it is the thick end of December bitingly cold (for cold blooded creatures like me, am surely descended from the reptiles) and with the mossies in full biting mode, this is not an experience I enjoy. Spare the five minutes that the brat will be on stage, shaking his booty. The cost

Of Sleeping Arrangements

The mamma and the brat are yawning in their seats. The brat is doing some Ben 10 sketching, his current favourite hobby apart from Beyblade matches which have him as undisputed champion. So brat, says mamma, let's to bed. Let us sleep in the udder room. Together. What about pappa, mamma asks gently, as the floor trembles delicately under Papa's snores. Let him sleep alone, comes the prompt disdainful reply. He's a beeg chile now. Sent from BlackBerry® on Airtel

To cover all contingencies

I asked Ads why he was carrying 2 hankerchiefs and he said "One is for my nose and one is for my tears". Ufff....too much! It sounds so tragic, doesn't it? The melodramatic fellow!Well, atleast no one can say I didn't allow my boy to express his feelings clearly. Nobody shall accuse me of curtailing his emotional growth or ignoring the emotional quotient in his personality. To set the record straight, he'd been going through a weepy phase and just felt the need to be prepared :)
