Cradle Hold

When you opt for a cradle hold breastfeeding position, ensure that you do the following:

  • Place your baby across your stomach. Her face and knees should face your body.
  • Rest your baby's head where your elbow bends.
  • Your baby's mouth should directly be in front of your nipple.
  • Your baby's body should be in a straight line. Her head should be slightly higher than the body.

The cradle hold breastfeeding position is also called the cuddle. A breastfeeding mother using cradle hold breastfeeding position should ensure that her arm has enough support such as a pillow so that it does not tire out before her baby has finished feeding herself. The mother can hold the little one closely and support her body.
